No HLS output from url

#1

There seems to be no HLS output coming from the URL given in the bottom right side of the status page. The TS over IP URL works and i can see the output in VLC.

This is the error i get in VLC -
Your input can’t be opened:
VLC is unable to open the MRL ‘xxx.xxx.xx.xx:8080/hls/show.m3u8’. Check the log for details.
(I hid my ip address)

I am using the FBE200-H.265-HLS encoder. All devices are on the same subnet.

Hi Jimmy,
I have noticed that sometimes i get the stream to connect in VLC but only once have i got it to show the content. And the content only displayed for ten seconds and then went away. I left VLC running and every 40 or 50 minutes, the content will display again, but for only ten or fifteen seconds. Its not the network, since i can view the TS stream with no problem in VLC all day long.

Hi Adam,

I just struggled over the same problems regarding instable HLS Streams and did some further tests and found a working setup for my setup:

Make sure that the Audio Encoding is set to MP3, after changing that I could get an stable HLS stream. Before I also noticed that requests for the m3u8 file will error with an 404 most of the time.

But there is another problem, it seems that the newer firmware releases revert the Audio Encoding setting to its default after an reboot. Thus i downgraded to Firmware version E265-20171121-HLS which works now stable for me, even after reboots.

Best regards,
Andreas

My dear friend

Sorry, I didn’t find the bug in advance.
I will upload the new upgrade package as soon as possible to solve this bug.

Thanks Andreas,
Changing to MP3 allows me to connect to a stable HLS stream.
Now i need to get it to work with my digital signage.
Thanks again

You are welcome, and glad to hear that it now also works for you.

And if you are having troubles with your digital signage solution you can check out ours: sklera.tv

We are a digital signage service provider and I was testing the HLS integration with FBE200 for one of our customers - so I know for sure now that its working  .

Best regards,
Andreas
